FRIDAY'S HUM ( 4-14-06 )

VOTRE SANTE
Lots of Hum about Vermont Senate health reform bill. It's a nail-biter, folks. Much more about this next week, when the picture will be clearer. Watch closely, friends, 'cuz this reform package could be one of the most vital pieces of legislation in recent times. It's boring to some, but important to all. Got some down time this weekend?

JESUS, IT'S THE EASTER BUNNY
Hilarious cartoon in this week's issue of Seven Days. It's the first Easter; the Easter Bunny and Jesus encounter each other and exclaim: ' Hey! Who are you?' Well, I guess you had to be there. Wait a minute, you can! Just go to page 56a in the current issue and yuck for yourselves.

MEET YOU AT THE SNACK BAR
Sunset Drive-In now open with a mix of movies. Of the flicks showing, 2 are PG, 4 are PG-13 and 2 are R. Not bad. Many are sequels, with Ice Age 2 and Scary Movie 4 leading the way.

UNBEARABLE
Bruins
not making the playoffs this year. Yawn.

FIVE CORNERS UPDATE
Good Friday at the Essex Junction Five Corners Light was a religious experience. While idling this morning, I was able to say 10 Our Fathers, 10 Hail Marys and still have time to read the ENTIRE New Testament. The light turned green just as I was wrapping up Revelations 21. It was perfect!
