THURSDAY'S HUM (4-20-06)
HOLY GREENBACKS, BATMAN
Lots of HUM about settlement between Catholic Diocese and victim for nearly a million dollars. The big story, though is still to come. There are 16 misconduct cases pending, with more than a handful involving Rev. Paquette, the focus of this first case. With a loose precedent already set, it will be interesting to see what happens with the other cases involving Paquette.
GIMME THE KEYS
Big show at the Flynn on May 10. NPR icon Marian McPartland will sit on the piano bench and tickle the ivories. McPartland has forgotten more about jazz than most jazz afficionados know. She talks about playing with Biz and Louis like we talk about going to Big Lots or having shook hands with the governor. For various reasons, this show is a biggie.
SCHILL HAMMER
Curt Schilling is 4-0 and saying FU to all the critics. He's always well-prepared, always in shape, and is a major competitor. The HUM predicted he would come back strong.
FIVE CORNERS UPDATE
Long wait at the Essex Junction Five Corners Light this morning. I had time to get out of the car, walk over to the senior center, play a couple games of cribbage with the ladies before I had to get back to the idling. It was a good break.
