TUESDAY'S HUM (4-18-06 )

Local gas prices are around 2.70 a gallon, a bargain if you live on the west coast. The groovy people out there are being soaked for 2.85 a gallon, give or take. I remember being in Spain years ago and paying 3 bucks a gallon and saying to myself, ' Boy, would it suck if we had to pay this much back in the States. Well ...

Earth Day is still hanging in there after 36 years. We remember people 20 years ago exclaiming, " What is Earth Day, for God's sakes?" Echo Center is taking it to another level, unveiling Mudfest, a nine-day celebration from April 22 to April 30. They'll be having workshops, games, art contest and music at noon, starting with Patti Casey on the 22nd. Ain't that the gal that was on Prairie Home Companion? Cool.

Had a great time yesterday waiting for the Essex Junction Five Corners Light to change. I got out of my car, hailed a cab for the airport, flew to Boston, bought a scalped ticket, watched the Sox win, flew back and reached my car just as the light turned green. It was simply marvelous!
