WEEKEND HUM (08-09-07)

TOP 5 HUMMERS OF THE WEEK

GET THE BUZZ ON ASTRO-NAUGHTY NOWAK

Astronaut Buzz Aldrin "admires astronaut Lisa Nowak for "traveling across the country at night and not getting out of her car...".
Ok, Buzz. Whatever you say.
If you remember, darling, Nowak is the love-crazed rocket girl who drove a long distance in order to confront her nemisis - another love-crazed rocket girl.
Nowak married a local boy from S.B.
See Time Magazine for the bizarre Buzz-words.

CALEDONIAN-RECORD MAKES NEWS
Funny.
Learned about the break-in at St. Johnsbury's Caledonian-Record's office from... the Free Press!
Went to Caledonian-Record online for additional info (8-10-07 9:30 P.M.) but they didn't have the story! SEEMS LIKE EVERYONE ELSE DID!
Wait a minute. Do you think they weren't aware it happened? Or maybe they were outscooped on their own break-in? Hmmm.
Also, the CR tends to lean right. Do you think the thieves were... no, they couldn't have been.

CATAMOUNT SIGHTING
Catamount health plan, that is.
Does anyone know who will qualify?
Yep. The Rutland Herald knows.
Here is the best coverage we've seen on the ins and outs of the new plan.

VERMONT TRADITIONALIST
Recently, someone was asking me for a list of conservative Vermont blogs. I said, "Oh, that'll take about 20 seconds."
But as I started searching, I started finding a few I wasn't aware of.
This is a well-written local con blog and I also realized they link to us! Cool!

LANDFILL OKAYED
The Moretown landfill, of course. Read the Valley Reporter to find out what's up with one of the other big landfills in Vermont.
